Field Trip Rescheduled

calvin-hobbes-baseball-bonk-cropThe field trip to the Legends of the Game Museum at the Ballpark in Arlington originally planned for this Saturday, February 28 has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 14.  Admission will still be free, and we will be meeting in front of the TWU library at 10am.

Please join us this Wednesday, February 25 in the CFO 11th Floor Conference Room from 12pm to 1pm as we welcome Kristina Birch, an instructor in the Department of History and Government, as she presents “Baseball in Skirts” in preparation for our field trip to the Legends of the Game Museum at the Ballpark in Arlington.

The field trip will be this Saturday, February 28, and admission will be free for those who attend.  We will be meeting in front of the TWU library at 10am.  If you plan on making your own travel arrangements, please see Bridgette (bridgette.baima@gmail.com) so that you may sign the travel waiver!

"A Time for Change: Barack Obama in African-American History"

In celebration of Black History Month, please join the Department of History & Government and the Office of Intercultural Services on Tuesday, February 17 at 2:30pm in CFO 203 for a special presentation, “A Time for Change: Barack Obama in African-American History.” 

Paul Dunbar, an instructor of African-American history in TWU’s Department of History & Government, will explore President Obama’s election in the context of African-American history.  Following the talk, a panel of students will discuss their impressions of the election’s historical and personal significance.  Refreshments served following the program.

Due to the inclement weather, the chapter meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 28 has been cancelled. Instead, our first chapter meeting will be on Wednesday, February 11, from 12pm to 1pm in the CFO 11th floor conference room.
